Dr Vicki Karaminas is Professor and Deputy Director of Doctoral Research at the College of Creative Arts, Massey University, Wellington New Zealand. With Adam Geczy she has edited Fashion and Art (Berg, 2012), written Queer Style (Bloomsbury, 2013) and Fashion’s Double: Representations of Fashion in Painting, Photography and Film (Bloomsbury 2015). She is the author of Shanghai Street Style (with Toni Johnson Woods) Sydney Street Style (with Toni Johnson Woods and Justine Taylor) and Fashion in Popular Culture (with Joseph Hancock and Toni Johnson Woods). Other book projects include, The Men’s Fashion Reader (Berg, 2009) and Fashion in Fiction. Text and Clothing in Literature, Film and Television (Berg, 2009). Her latest book titles are Critical Fashion Practice: From Westwood to van Beirendonck (with Adam Geczy, forthcoming Bloomsbury 2017) and Transcultural Fashion Narratives. Image, Identity and Ideology (University Chicago/Intellect, 2016). She is the principle editor (with Adam Geczy) of the Journal of Asia-Pacific Pop Culture (Penn State University Press) and the associate editor of Critical Studies in Men’s Fashion (Intellect) Karaminas is on the editorial board of the following international journals; Fashion Theory, The Journal of Dress, Body and Culture (Routledge) International Journal of Fashion Studies and Film (Intellect) and Film, Fashion and Consumption (Intellect).
